How we Made Over $1100 in Just 7 Days With an Event Based Niche Blog- Case Study

Wow! It was an awesome valentine’s day!! Most of you were busy with your boyfriend or girlfriend or love or life partner (whatever you call them) celebrating the day of love and having the best time you could ever have. But we had other ideas! No its not about love! Not about Gf/Bf! Its about Blogging!! This valentine’s day gave us a lot to take in both in-terms of knowledge and depth about blogging and also in terms of income.

The best thing is, we have worked on the site for less than 7days and it made over $1000 from Adsense and over $150 from Infolinks.

I know many of you might be wondering how it started, how we were able to not only build a website but also rank it in the 1st position in google, and how it all ended! Read the entire article where I’m going to talk everything in detail !

How it all started?

It was just another normal day, we were building up on BurpTech and had a random thought of doing an event based niche blog on any of the upcoming big events. So we went to Imran bro and asked to suggest some event for which we could eventually work on. After a discussion of about 10mins, Imran bro told us to start a niche blog on Valentine’s Day, targeting a specified and low competition keyword. But the problem was, it was just about 20days we started working under Imran bro and we had very little knowledge about link building, which plays the major role in rankings.

We kept thinking and were not sure if we could do it, as there was very little time left and we also had exams on the event day. But Imran bro told he would definitely help us which was a confidence boost. Then we remembered the famous quote which says, “Don’t Think! Just Do It!”
And there it started, we chose a low competition keyword and targeted “valentine’s day messages”.

Web Designing and Link Building

On Page Optimization:

• There was limited time for us to design and also rank the website. So we had to pull up our socks. The domain name we took was www.happyvalentinesdaymessages.org. 
  
• The template chosen was same as that of BurpTech (ATB Template) which is highly SEO optimized and also responsive.
• We divided the work among ourselves and were able to complete designing the website with many articles in just 1 day!
• The loading time of the page was reduced by removing unwanted plugins and various unnecessary options.
• Certain Advanced SEO strategies were implemented by which the page rank flow was not wasted.
• Monetization of the blog was done by Google Adsense, Infolinks and also Affiliate Sales.
• Keyword rich articles were written on low and medium competition keywords.

Off Page Optimization:

• Link Building was the most important and major task. We underwent huge link building campaigns.
• Since the time for the event was very less, we decided to rank the home page rather than all the internal pages.
• We started link building on our most targeted keywords like “valentine’s day messages” “happy valentine’s day messages” and also “valentine’s day sms”.

Traffic and Ranking

The traffic was increasing everyday and so were the rankings. In just two days, our site started ranking on 2nd page of Google which has really surprised us. This gave us a lot of enthusiasm and made our spirits high! We continued the link building process and also kept checking the raise in our rankings.

Our site ranked in the first position for all the targeted keywords for 3 continuous days, which has obviously pulled in major traffic on the big day!

The site had generated over $1000 from Google Adsense and $150+ from Infolinks.

Final Words

This was a great start for us and a wonderful learning experience more than anything. Almost all our doubts about link building, which is a vast topic, were cleared. Imran bro was the root cause for all this to happen and we are very thankful to him. We seriously did not expect we could earn so much in just 7 days and only in a month of coaching under him. We will definitely do more such event based niche blogs, which is out of ordinary and routine blogging and also increase our earnings every now and then.
